Hi there!  This is my seventh year at Rosemont Ridge and I teach 7th grade Language Arts .  I attended the University of Oregon (go Ducks!) and worked as a project manager in international business for many years before returning to graduate school at Lewis & Clark College to become an educator.  Since then, I have taught a variety of subjects in middle schools, from Language Arts to Computers.  The students of Rosemont are surprising in the best ways and I look forward to learning with them each day.

First and foremost, I love to read.  I’ve always loved words.  For me, getting lost in a book is the ultimate luxury.  Through books, I can experience other lives, learn how other writers write, laugh, cry, get mad, fall in love, think for myself, and evolve as a person.  Not surprisingly, my students will have the opportunity to do the same during our year together.

In my spare time, I also enjoy playing with my one-year-old daughter Wren, traveling, and camping with my husband Kyle (also a middle school teacher).  Our family also includes two rambunctious black labs, Otis and Fern.
